You can build your first website for free using easy to use tools provided by Google. Google Sites allows you to get online quickly with free hosting and simple website design tools.

Attach your own domain to look professional, use analytics to track visitors, or collect names via a contact form or survey using Google Forms. If you haven’t used any of these tools, you will be surprised that these tools are freely available to use for whatever project you have in mind.

Who should attend:

Any adult 18+ wanting to get online and create a website.

This includes kaimahi, kaiako, tauira, Ahikōmako and community members.

Requirements:

Laptop or PC with decent internet connection, and preferable an existing Google account, although you can create one during the course if needed.

You may need an existing domain name, or budget (between $5 to $20) and credit card (to purchase one) if you wish to learn how to use a custom url (domain name) with your new google website.

If you don't have budget or a credit card to purchase a domain, don't be put off attending, as you can always do this later and benefit from learning and using the tool.

The web conferencing software Zoom will need to be preinstalled to be able to attend the online workshop.
